Where you play is just as important as how you play in Dead By Daylight. Here are the best maps in the game.
Dead by Daylight is the king of asymmetrical horror games. It has a lot of big-name IPs, like Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Resident Evil, to name a few. More will be added in future updates, though. New killers, survivors, and maps are added to BHVR all the time.
At the moment, Dead by Daylight has a total of 19 realms, and the number of maps goes up to 40 with each variant. With so many to choose from, there are definitely some that are better in terms of how they work and how they look.
Midwich Elementary School

The Midwich Elementary School map in Dead by Daylight that came with the Silent Hill Chapter was full of fun easter eggs from the game, like a girl crying in the bathrooms and a body falling out of a locker. If the survivors finish the generators in a certain order, the clock tower will open and show the secrets inside.
From a gameplay point of view, it’s not the best, but some killers, like the Gunslinger or the Huntress, can use the long corridors to their advantage. The survivors will have to be quick on their feet or use more than one classroom to stay alive.
Macmillan Estate – Coal Tower

Coal Tower is one of the more balanced maps in the game. It is one of the base maps and is meant for the killer known as the Trapper. With strong loops like the main building, which is easy to link to the nearby T and L walls, survivors can give killers a run for their money. But that doesn’t mean it’s too much in favor of the survivors.
The upstairs and downstairs of the main building have walls that can be broken. This can give killers an advantage, especially if they catch their victims on the upper floor and force them to drop. Without certain perks, survivors are stunned for a second after falling from a height. Which can mean the difference between life and death during chases.
Haddonfield – Lampkin Lane

Once upon a time, this map was the worst thing that could happen to a killer. It was the hardest thing they would ever have to do. Killers could be made fun of by SWFs or even solo players by chaining chases through the close-packed houses until all the generators popped.
But that happened long ago. Now, Haddonfield has been redesigned a lot with the idea of balance in mind, and it looks better all around. Now, the main street looks more like the street from Halloween. It is wider, so there are fewer broken loops, and the houses are farther apart. So you can’t chase someone forever.
Crotus Prenn – Disturbed Ward

The disturbed ward is the asylum version of the Crotus Prenn maps. It has many places for survivors to lead killers on a chase, such as a shack, the main buildings. And the greenhouse outside, without being too one-sided.
The main building is far enough away from the shack that survivors might not be able to link them together without taking at least one hit. And the survivors have access to strong palettes inside the main building that they can use to quickly stun enemies and get away. There is also a chance that vault points will appear on some of the ramps outside. This can make the chase last longer or allow the killers to go back and surprise the survivor.
MacMillan Estate – Groaning Storehouse

The Groaning Storehouse, which is another version of Macmillan Estate, is one of the better ones. It has a large main building with a central generator and many wall and crate loops to keep the game fresh and interesting. As one of the base maps, it got a makeover a few years ago to improve the quality of the graphics, and the new look really made this map more interesting.
Even though it’s not the most beautiful, it’s well-balanced enough that no one will complain when it spawns.
Grave of Glenvale – Dead Dawg Saloon

When the Chains of Hate chapter came out, the Gunslinger and Zarina, a survivor, were added to the game. This map, which has a wild-west theme, was also added. Some people in the community think that the strong loops, like the maze of chaining walls and the saloon, make this map too good for survivors, but skilled killers can easily get their 4k.
The saloon has walls that can be broken in order to make chases more fair. And killers can use loop tactics like hiding their killers stain or using perks that make it easier to track down their prey. Not only that, but the map looks great and has some fun little easter eggs like the vultures and the haunted piano.
The Game – Gideon’s Meat Packing Plant

The meat packing plant has one of, if not the biggest, multi-floor maps. This gives some killers an advantage and also gives great opportunities for boons.
The map comes from the meat packing plant that Amanda uses as her base of operations in the third Saw movie. The plant has a room full of monitors, a frozen body, and bloody torture devices that twist the limbs of unfortunate victims. The Game is one of the strongest maps, but it is not the strongest. It is well-made and has some tricky loops for both survivors and zone killers.
Eyrie of Crows

When the Artist and Jonas came out, the game came with Eyrie of Crows. Which is one of the more recent maps. It is one of the more beautiful maps because it has a tall tower, a spinning vortex of books in the library, and blotches of ink floating up to the sky.
From a gameplay point of view, Eyrie of Crows has some good loops for survivors, with long walls on the upper level of the main building. But the killer also has some advantages on this map. For example, from the main building, they can see the whole map and find survivors.
Crotus Prenn – Father Campbells Chapel
Father Campbell’s Church is the other version of the Crotus Prenn realm. It is the Clown’s map, which was added to the game when he was released. In this version, the asylum in the middle of the map has been changed to a church. Which can be a strong loop point for survivors. However, killers can catch survivors here by playing with their minds and cutting them off from vaults.
The other big attraction is the circus, which has a circle of tents, a speaker that plays typical circus music, a trailer that players can run through. And even a cardboard cutout of a character that they can put their face in for some fun. But Maurice, the undead horse with three eyes that fans love, is the star of the show.
Yamaoka Estate – Family Residence

Family Residence is the Spirit’s version of Happy Wheels, which comes in two different styles. It is a well-balanced map with a lot of style. Family Residence is well-designed. It has nods to traditional Japanese aesthetics, like a typical Japanese-style building with tatami walls and gazebos with altars that look like they are used for rituals.
Not only that, but the map feels fair for both sides to play on. The main building and the shack spawn on opposite ends of the map. This can break up long chases and stop killers from being led on for 5 generations. But survivors can also use vault points and nearby wall loops to avoid being killed too early in the match.
Right now, you can play Dead by Daylight on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
